Print advert
This charity print advert is about young children living in poverty in Australia and haven't got the life benefits of a good education and health, the slogan "stop him falling through the cracks" means dont let this child miss out on the opportunities that other children have at that age and the benefits of education and good environment to develop in, then probably falling behind at an early and key stage of life and end up homeless or just with out a bright future. The dull dark colours show that times are very difficult for those young children that live in poverty and disadvantage and how unhappy and dull their lives are at a young age and that this will carry on to the future if people don't act mow. The crack on the ground is part to match the slogan to represent the blockades those children have from prospering in life because of being disadvantaged and being separated from the benefits and achievements of education and a good life. Every thing about the child shouts help me the clothing, shoes, facial expression and the position the child is standing in. The child's face shows that he is fed up, tiered, scared and unhappy. the clothing he is wearing shows that he lives in poverty and cant afford good footwear and clothing and the position he is standing in shows that he is scared and unsure of whats going on. this image is used to really persuade people to donate money because of feeling loads of sympathy for the children and this boy especially because he is the representing face of the charity ad so if he looks like this many more children do. what i would take from this print advert and apply it to mine would be the metaphorical language to use as the slogan as shown on this print advert, apart from that there is nothing else that would suit the criteria of my print advert.

Television advert
This tv advert is about the RSPCA the animal charity this advert is specifically about dogs and getting dogs as a Christmas, it addresses all the responsibilities there are owning a dog especially form a puppy, all the care, time, and attention the animal needs and that its not a toy that you can play with and leave after a few days. the music used in the advert is very soft and calm to match the animals appearance and make people feel like they want to help the poor dog. the scenes clearly show the audience what a puppy like this goes through when it gets abandoned by its owners and how unpleasant it is for an animal just as for a human. the advert also plays this soft and relaxing music and uses a stuffed puppy to make you feel relaxed and comfortable in your surroundings but also feel sympathy and worry for the real animals out there just by seeing the things the puppy replica went through and makes people want to help out and save the animal. At the end of the advert there is a real dog and the slogan "kindness goes a long way" which means that the dog is also a living thing and deserves kindness and love just like a person and it'll repay you with kindness, love and loyalty because a dog is a mans best friend. what i would apply to my print advert would be the slogan "kindness goes a long way" because it is very true and the meaning applies to everyone and everything.
