Smile campaign pitch

the target audience for this type of product are people within my community, which is the people in my college aged 16-25 that are experiencing different forms of stress, pressure, phobias and other forms of mental health that have an impact on their everyday lives. in the clients brief it specifically states that the target audience is people within my community which are young adults aged between 16-25 that are suffering from stress and mental health. The rate of suicide in women under the age of 25 has increased by 93.8% since 2012 to its highest peak in 2019, this information can be found on the Samaritans website. Also i have found out that young men aged 17,18 to 24 are 48% less likely to seek out for professional help which increased the suicide rates in young men by 52.7% since 2007 and the numbers are still climbing. https://www.samaritans.org/about-samaritans/research-policy/suicide-facts-and-figures/?gclid=CjwKCAiA_9r_BRBZEiwAHZ_v12D0gGf0t6i5gNZrWkM6aiouAmbo4B3zS3OdEiDSuyrI-wvAubzcyRoC9F4QAvD_BwE

The reason why the print and TV advert is a good idea for the campaign is because it will be available on social media platforms like Facebook, twitter, Instagram and streaming platforms like YouTube and spotify, because of the pandemic its hard to reach people in person and these days everyone is connected through the internet which is a good opportunity to use to spread a positive message and reach as many people as possible because advertisements are everywhere now so its not hard to miss them. By analyzing print and TV adverts i have learned that to produce the advert i had to study the demographics and psycho-graphics of my audience, then gather all my research and make suitable adjustments like the colors used in adverts similar to mine, the language and tone that is used to address my audience and it helps me understand the criteria that is expected from my adverts to match my clients and target audiences demands. For the codes and conventions i will be using the codes of media, camera, mise en scene, editing, lightening, colour scheme, language communication and the setting. but my advert will be different to the adverts i analyzed by instead of being sad, emotional, distressing and sympathetic my adverts are going to be more positive, colourful and uplifting to send a positive message to people and spark positivety and determination in peoples everyday lives, instead of portraying mental health negatively.

My idea for my print advert would be a poster with three photo stages of me in bed, me standing up looking into a mirror and me standing on high ground reaching up to the sky as if im going to grab it with a tree part slogan, for the first photo it will say "mood is down turn it around" for the secound picture of me standing in front of a mirror it will say "dont be scared we here to help out" and for the third and final picture of me on high ground reaching for the sky it will say "the world is yours, you just have to reach out" and each picture stage will have brighter colours to symbolize that reaching out for help makes things more easier and enjoyable and that you could do anything as long as you have the right positive mindset in you.
this three piece poster will start with dark and dull colours from the bottom to symbolize the struggle of mental health and the other two pictures will be brighter and full of work bright colours to symbolize that your not alone and to show the bright and positives of reaching out for help and recovering and achieving your life goals and moving forward and up in life.

i think this would be a positive print advert because it shows that no matter how bad it is there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and within that light a helping hand from someone and after seeing it audiences will feel more confident to ask for help and change their frame of mind into a more positive and determined one. the adverts USP would be social media and streaming platforms because everyone is connected through the internet and thats where it would reach most people.

i think this print advert is right for the client because it shows a tough situation that can eventually be resolved with the right approach, people and frame of mind, the client wants the advert to put a smile on peoples faces and thats what the advert is designed for to show people that asking for support changes things and reaching for your dreams makes you happy because we are all worth it and we all can be someone, we just need to support each other and work and smile together. this advert will attract the right audience because it spreads a message of support, happiness, motivation and team work and no one wants to feel or be left out.
