camera cutaways this is a close-up establishment shot showing the audience the equipment that will be used for the haircut of the client also it shows that the video is about a haircut. this is a extreme close up shot of the barber trimming the clients hair with a comb and pair of scissors the shot is filmed in extreme close up to show the audience in detail that part of the hair to cut and how much to cut in this specific area of the clients head. this is a close up shot and a brief continuation of the clip from the extreme close up shot to show the audience the area of the haircut on a bigger scale to cover more montage of the haircut. this is a close up shot going into focus to show the audience the fading of the clients sides by the barber and the precise use of equipment.  The purpose of a cutaway in a video is to gather short snaps scenes of the client getting his haircut by the barber, cutaway shots are mainly took in close up shots (ECU, CU and MCU) the main...

Mindhunter opening sequence    https://youtube.com/watch?v=7B7QDm80IYI&feature=share This video is a opening sequence/intro to the tv series mindhunter which is a gritty thriller about psychotic people and murderers. The music for the series shows suspense, mystery, also a touch of horror and it makes the audience feel like they are the detective just by listening to the sound track and thinking what’s going to happen next with all the suspense building up in the soundtrack the cinematography of the video is structured to make the series look gory and really edged  but at the same time really intriguing by showing you little photo cut aways of the victims in the series to show the audience how creepy, edgey it can get also it creates a mystery at the beginning of the series before even watching it because it makes the audience question what happens to those victims and the suspenseful music makes the audience feel more in the element. The camera angles are shot in ext...

Camera shots and angles

Image
camera shots and angles extreme close-up (ECU) big close-up (BCU) close-up (CU) medium close-up (MCU) medium shot (MS) medium long shot (MLS) long shot (LS) very long shot (VLS) two shot (could be CU/MCU/MS) over the shoulder shot looking room (looking into space in the frame of the camera) good for interviews  high angle shot (HAS looking down) low angle shot (LAS looking up) tilted frame shot (TFS/dutch angle) walking room (moving subject walks into space) I have developed 15 different camera angels/shots which helped me understand the angles and made me confidant with using the camera for different shots and angles like the MCU medium close up or the dutch effect (tilted frame) what I could practice would be getting the camera shots in frame so they are as accurate as possible.
